What is being created?

Guides

These include long-form educational guides such as Product Management 101, GA Glossary (A-Z), User Feedback 101, SaaS startup tips that position Hotjar as a thought leader in the CRO space. (”They definitely know their shiz so the product must be great. Let me try it out”)

Case Studies

These are evidence-based, real-world impacts documented that build more trust. Since these have quantifiable insights (e.g. +20% Sales), it builds for higher trust. (”Interesting! I want to see these results too! Let me sign up”)

Usable/actionable templates

This is an amazing way to demonstrate the sub-products in action. It does not tell you how to use Hotjar, but rather just how to use the core feature (e.g. how to conduct surveys: 30+ usable survey templates). Since it is already templatized on Hotjar, the easiest is to click on “see it in action” and start using Hotjar!

Blogs

  • These are blogs related to product updates, UX, PX insights, CRO, etc. which rather than being educational (unlike guides) are more related to how the Hotjar team thinks and their take on these topics. This is built to increase their positioning around thought leadership and build on transparency- which ultimately lead to building trust.

Short-form and long-form videos

  • These are videos on topics such as “how-to, help with integrations & filters, generic CRO-related knowledge banks etc.” for users who prefer quick videos instead of reading articles.

How will it be created?

Hotjar’s core ideology is to focus on quality along with quantity, and this is portrayed through each and every piece of communication that comes in from them
A robust in-house team of content creators will be responsible for creating this content.

How will the discovery work?

  • User searches for a related CRO use-case
  • User finds at least one of these pieces of content (depending on the use case)
  • The user clicks through, finds relevance to be high, and decides to explore further
  • Lands on the intended landing page and converts into SQL

Execution

📌
Existing:
Hotjar is proactively creating most of this content and we will be amplifying this effort extensively.
📌
Proposed:
  • Addition of related content and re-directional prompts to actually create a “loop” and increase discovery.
  • Every page, every section which says “ Get started for free” should promote their 15-day trial. So the CTA button would say “Get a free trial”
  • Creating audio transcripts of the content to users to easily listen on the go.
  • Making the share option more visible so that users can also potentially become distributors.

Actionable Items

Frequency:

📌
Initial Frequency (Month 0 to Month 2)
  • Create 2 guides each month focused on high-intent keywords from India
  • Create up to 6 case studies of India-based clients - 2 each for each BCP
📌
Frequency (Month 3 onwards)
  • Create 1 guide each month focused on high-intent keywords
  • Create 1 case study each focused on each ICP from India
